What are Jumblewood books?
Jumblewood books are illustrated story-and-activity adventures created for children aged 3-5 to enjoy with a grown-up. Each book follows our four woodland friends through a gentle adventure, with colouring, activities and a practical Make inspired by the story. Friendship, kindness, imagination and doing things together are at the heart of Jumblewood.
What does “Story. Colour. Make.” mean?
First we share the story. Then we can colour, explore and play with activities inspired by the adventure. Finally, there is something from the story we can make together - so a Jumblewood idea can become part of our own world too.
What can children practise through the activities?
The activities give children lots of gentle opportunities to notice, count, compare, choose, colour, solve simple puzzles and follow steps with a grown-up. Stories also give us natural moments to talk about things such as helping, sharing, kindness and working things out together. There are no perfect results needed - the fun is in noticing, trying, making and sharing the experience.

Do we need special craft supplies?
Each book includes a grown-up materials list for its Make. Supplies vary with the adventure, and many are simple craft or household items. Occasionally we may need to gather something extra, such as a little plant pot or some seeds, so it is worth checking the list before we begin.
Will my child need a grown-up's help?
Yes - Jumblewood Makes are designed to be enjoyed together. How much help is needed will depend on the child and the activity. Grown-ups should take the lead whenever scissors, baking, tools or other steps need extra care.
Can we enjoy Jumblewood without a screen?
Absolutely. The printed books bring together stories, colouring, activities and Makes that we can enjoy away from a screen. Find a cosy place to read, gather what we need and see what we can create together.
Are all Jumblewood books about Christmas?
No. Our first adventures arrive during the festive season, but Jumblewood is a world for every season. Friendship, making, imagination and doing things together belong in our woodland all year round.
