Jumblewood Policies

We want Jumblewood to feel warm, welcoming and easy to understand -and that includes the small print. This page explains how we look after information, how our website may be used, and what happens when you follow a Jumblewood link to buy a book from Amazon or download one of our resources.
For these policies, “Jumblewood”, “Hazelheart Publishing”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Susan Hogan, trading as Hazelheart Publishing, publisher of Jumblewood.
At the moment, jumblewood.co.uk does not take orders or payments. Jumblewood books are purchased through Amazon. When you leave our website to buy there, Amazon’s terms and the terms of any seller shown on the Amazon listing apply to that purchase.
What we may collect

Your name and contact details when you send us a message or join our mailing list.

Information you choose to include in a message to us.

Technical information about how the website is used, such as device, browser, IP address and pages visited, where this is collected by our website or analytics tools.

Why we use it

To reply to enquiries and help with Jumblewood website, content or permission questions.

To send Jumblewood news and marketing where you have asked us to do so, or where the law otherwise allows it.

Depending on what we are doing, our legal basis will usually be your consent, the steps needed to provide a product or service to you, our legitimate interests in running Jumblewood safely and effectively, or a legal obligation.
Children's privacy
Jumblewood is made for children to enjoy with the grown-ups in their lives, but we do not need children to give us their personal information.
Children should not join the mailing list or complete contact forms themselves. Please ask a parent, carer, teacher or other responsible grown-up to do that. We do not knowingly ask children to give us personal information for marketing purposes. If we learn that we have collected a child’s information by mistake and do not have a lawful reason to keep it, we will delete it.
Who we may share information with
We may use trusted service providers to help us run Jumblewood, for example:

professional advisers such as accountants or legal advisers where needed; and

public authorities where we are legally required to provide information.
We do not sell your personal information. If one of our providers processes information outside the UK, we expect appropriate legal safeguards to be used.
How long we keep information

Enquiries: normally up to 24 months after the conversation ends, unless we need it for longer for a genuine business or legal reason.

Mailing list details: until you unsubscribe or we stop using the list. We may keep a minimal suppression record so we know not to contact you again.

Website and analytics information: according to the relevant cookie, security or platform retention period.
Your rights

We only collect personal information when we have a reason to use it, and we try to collect as little as we reasonably need.

You are welcome to browse Jumblewood, enjoy the stories and ideas, and use resources in the ways explained on this page.

copy or commercially exploit Jumblewood material except where we have given permission; or

pretend that Jumblewood content, characters, artwork or resources are your own.

We work hard to keep information accurate and the website available, but websites sometimes need maintenance or contain errors. We may change, remove or update content without notice.
The site may include links to other websites, including retailers and social platforms. Those websites are run by other organisations, so their own terms and privacy policies apply.
Nothing in these policies limits any rights or remedies that the law says cannot be limited. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, while any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live remain unaffected.
4. Buying Jumblewood books
At the moment, Jumblewood does not take orders or payments on jumblewood.co.uk.
Current Situation
Our books are currently sold through Amazon. When you choose a “Buy on Amazon” link, you leave the Jumblewood website and complete your purchase on Amazon.
For anything specific to an Amazon order - including payment, delivery, tracking, cancellation, returns, replacements or refunds - Amazon is your first point of contact. The quickest route is normally “Your Orders” in your Amazon account, where Amazon provides the help options for that purchase.
Depending on the listing, an order may be fulfilled by Amazon or by the seller shown on Amazon. Amazon’s “Your Orders” area will direct you to the correct support route, including where a third-party seller is involved.
Jumblewood cannot see, change or refund an Amazon order and we do not receive your Amazon payment or delivery details simply because you followed a link from our website.

5. Downloads & free resources
At the moment, the downloads we provide through jumblewood.co.uk are free resources. If we introduce paid downloads later, we will update these policies and show the relevant purchase terms before anyone pays.
Free Jumblewood resources
Unless a resource says otherwise, free downloads are for personal, home, educational or non-commercial group use. A parent, carer, teacher or group leader may print reasonable copies for the children in their own household, class or group.
Please do not sell the files, upload them elsewhere as downloads, remove our copyright information, include them in a product for sale, or redistribute the original digital files to other organisations. Instead, please send people to Jumblewood so they can download their own copy.
6. Makes, activities & safety
Jumblewood activities are designed to be enjoyed together. A grown-up should decide whether an activity is suitable for the child’s age, ability and circumstances, and supervise where needed.
Care Recommendations
Please take particular care with:

scissors, needles, hole punches and other sharp or pointed tools;

ovens, hobs, hot water and heated ingredients;
-
small parts, beads, bells, seeds and other possible choking hazards;
-
glue, paint, glitter and craft materials - follow the maker’s instructions;

food allergies, intolerances and dietary requirements when baking or preparing food; and
-
plants, soil, seeds and natural materials - wash hands and use materials that are suitable for the activity.
Recipes, growing ideas and craft instructions are general family activities, not medical, dietary or professional safety advice. Any safety information supplied with a particular product, material or piece of equipment should always be followed.
7. Copyright & permitted use
Jumblewood’s stories, characters, names, artwork, logos, website copy, activity sheets and other original materials are protected by copyright, trade mark and other intellectual property laws where applicable.
Guidance on Use
You may:

browse and enjoy the website for personal use;

print Jumblewood resources where the resource itself permits printing;

use permitted free resources with your own household, class or non-commercial children’s group; and
-
share a normal link to a Jumblewood webpage or product.
Please ask us before you:

republish substantial Jumblewood text or artwork;

copy or adapt our characters, logo or illustrations for commercial use;

sell, license or redistribute our downloadable files;

use Jumblewood material on merchandise, packaging or paid products; or

use our branding in a way that suggests we have endorsed or partnered with you when we have not.

8. Accessibility
We want grown-ups and children to be able to enjoy Jumblewood as easily as possible.
To help with this, we have added an accessibility tool to the website so visitors can adjust things such as text size and other display settings to suit their needs.
Guidance
We also aim to use clear language, readable layouts, useful image descriptions where appropriate, sensible colour contrast and pages that work well across different screen sizes.

If your question is about an Amazon order, please use the help options in “Your Orders” on Amazon first. Jumblewood cannot access or change Amazon order details. We may update these policies when the website, our products or the law changes. The latest version will always be published on this page with the date shown at the top.
